'Under God' part of Pledge of Allegiance under review in Massachusetts



Supreme Judicial Court of Massachusetts believes that the phrase "under God" in the Pledge of Allegiance is discriminating.  It was already tried on a state level, saying it was a violation of the separation of church and state. However, they are still trying to remove it.

Obama administration won't enforce VA ban on same-sex benefits


The Justice Department will now allow the Veteran Affairs Department to provide benefits to same-sex married couples. In June, they defined marriage as only between one and and one woman. Now they are taking that back, to give benefits to all veterans.

Texas high school stabbings: Teen charged with murder

One Texan student dead, and three injured at high school stabbing. During a physical interaction, the suspect pulled a knife and stabbed the victim to death. Parents heard about the incident through automated phone and e-mail messages three hours after.
